The prestigious tyre maker CEAT, which is a subsidiary of RPG Enterprises, recently held the grand opening of its cutting-edge and fully automated warehouse in the city. According to a statement released by CEAT on Saturday, the warehouse, which now has the ability to store two lakh finished tyres, can be enlarged two to three times during the next five years. The new distribution centre makes use of cutting-edge technology to automate the process of storing, retrieving, and loading tyres onto the appropriate trucks. It eradicates the possibility of tyres being mixed up, which contributes to an increase in customer satisfaction.

CEAT has reached a new benchmark in its progression towards expansion and development with the launch of its very first warehouse which is completely computerised and automated. 20,000 passenger vehicle radials can be produced each day at the Chennai factory, which has that capability.
It is located in close proximity to a number of important original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including the German truck maker Daimler, the heavy commercial vehicle producer Ashok Leyland and the automobile manufacturers Hyundai Motor and Renault-Nissan, amongst others. The organisation stated that the goal of automating a warehouse is not to lower the amount of labour, but rather to boost and enhance the standard of delivery, as well as to reduce the amount of time it takes to dispatch orders.
