Michelin topped the list of most valuable tyre brands in the latest edition of “Auto 100”, a comprehensive study of auto brands conducted by “Brand Finance”.
- Michelin bags the top position of the world’s most valuable tyre brand sixth time in a row.
- The second and third positions have been bagged by Bridgestone and Continental respectively.
- Indian brands MRF and Apollo secured 13th and 15th positions respectively.
In the annual “Auto 100” study conducted by Brand Finance, Michelin has emerged as the world’s most valuable tyre brand globally. The annual comprehensive study of the strongest automobile brands, conducted by the leading brand valuation consultancy, reveals Michelin as the top securer for the sixth time in a row.
The list of top fifteen tyre brands saw Bridgestone securing the second position, while the third position was secured by Continental. Two tyre brands from India – MRF and Apollo – also made their way into the list. While MRF scored 13th rank in the list, Apollo ended up in 15th position. Among the fifteen tyre brands listed, six of them saw their brand value increase compared to last year’s result.
Despite achieving a marginal YoY growth of 2 per cent in brand value, Michelin scored the numero-uno position, with its valuation tipping at USD 7.9 billion. Bridgestone secured the second position with its brand valuation at USD 7 billion while witnessing degrowth in its brand value by 1 per cent. The third ranker in the list, Continental, also saw its brand value dipping by 3 per cent, which stood at USD 4 billion.
Apart from this feat, Michelin has also secured two more achievements in its kitty. The French tyre brand ended up at the top position in the brand strength index with a score of 88.1 out of 100, with its mascot “Bibendum (Michelin Man)” being a familiar face very much responsible for its awareness. Michelin also has the highest Sustainability Perceptions Value at USD 255 million. It also has the strongest Sustainability Perception Score of 5.08.
