The IP Voltmeter is designed to get you up and running measuring DC voltages and current within your local area network or online. It features 3 voltmeters which can each measure DC voltages between +-100V at a resolution of 0.01V, with a rate of 2 samples per second. The single ammeter channel can measure currents between +-20A DC with a resolution of 0.01A.
The product page gives an overview of connectivity options. You can read the sensor data from the device via a web browser, TCP client, SNMP client or by reading a generated XML file. Looking through the documentation link on the product page there is a wealth of information about setting up this device, discovering its IP address, etc. It also supports dynamic DNS services, so dynamic IP addresses aren’t a barrier to use. Advanced options include defining sensor thresholds which send alerts to the user. There is also guidance on how to set the device up to forward data to ThingSpeak, a cloud-based service for data collation and visualization.
It’s a well-thought-out device and it’s easy to imagine it in monitoring projects or devices in remote places. While you could perhaps look at LoRA-type solutions to these types of problems, a hard-wired LAN solution such as this is probably easier to set up while being a rugged “set and forget” approach to power monitoring. If you need to monitor any electrical parameters remotely, check the listing out for more information! Slovakian-based seller Digital Measure also has other products that can be used for remote monitoring.
