There are plenty of add-on modules for you to choose from when expanding the functionality of your Flipper Zero. The Flipper Phoenix, however, packs almost everything you could possibly want into a single add-on board. Not only that but the firmware and applications are driven by the community and collaboration, so new functionality gets added as time goes by!
Powered by an ESP32 at its heart, the Phoenix supports a lot of the penetration tester tools you’d expect to see, including packet sniffing for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with .pcap files saved to microSD. It then adds optional extras like an NRF24L01 for analysis of other protocols on the 2.4GHz band, or a CC1101 that can support various protocols up to 1GHz. Both of these can have SMA antennas for increased range and transmit power.
A feature that really sets this module apart is the OV2640 camera module. Though it’s far from a high-resolution camera, the image quality is quite good with these modules and they come with various lens attachments to get wide-angle and/or telephoto views. The camera can be accessed through a web portal. It also has a built-in flashlight LED which can be used for flashing Morse code, or to illuminate the area for a photo.
With all sorts of tricks up its sleeves, the Phoenix is a great addition to the Flipper Zero. If you’ve been wondering what expansion modules to get, take a look at the product page and see if the Phoenix is for you!
