I think it’s fair to say that the COVID crisis increased people’s interest in indoor environment monitoring and CO2 levels as a marker of the air quality in general. This neat little meter monitors CO2 levels and shows the gathered data beautifully on the onboard E-Ink display.
As we breathe we all produce and emit CO2 gas. This gas accumulates in closed environments which generally reduces the air quality. A high CO2 count can also indicate increased risks concerning airborne illnesses, such as COVID, as it’s a marker of the amount of air that has been through everyone’s respiratory system in a given space. This unit not only detects and measures CO2 levels, it also feeds back the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. It also can connect to WiFi and with a companion app enables real-time monitoring away from the device. The app allows you to set up notifications and alarms for when data exceeds particular thresholds.
The unit is supplied fully assembled and is powered via USB. There is another port on the device and you can add optional sensors to expand the functionality of the device (for example adding luminescence detection) or to expand the coverage of the sensors in a larger space. We love the idea of having something that reminds us to open a window, or perhaps to get up and take a break outside and with its neat design this unit fits the bill perfectly.
