‘Tis the season to get soldering and what finer way to celebrate the coming winter festivities than this Santanator badge?
This rather excellent badge is supplied as either fully assembled or as a kit. It, as the pun-full product listing page states, is a very good way to terminate your fear of soldering, ideal as a beginner’s kit. At first look we didn’t notice that the PCB is cleverly designed with large missing sections on the machine side which, once spotted, show the (not included but common) CR2032 coin cell battery mounted on the reverse side. It’s a clever design that really adds depth to the cyborg side of the badge. Speaking of depth the whole badge sits at 5mm thick making it easily wearable. The depth effect is emboldened by adding extra solder flowed onto the cyborg side which really adds to the heavy metal feel. The LED eye is offered in either a permanent on option or a 1.5Hz flashing option.
It’s definitely worth clicking through to read an excellent and humorous product description for this badge and whilst it states that whilst wearing this badge “Survival against time-travelling assassins is not guaranteed!!” It still would make for an excellent gift or fashion accessory for the festive period.
