Arduinos are great. They are such a pivotal part of the maker movement and have formed the basis of a staggeringly large amount of projects and products. With a great choice of Arduino board flavours it’s not often something new yet compatible catches our eye, let alone takes our breath away. The GlowDuino Uno does just that with its lovely collection of LEDs attached to each IO pin.
It’s fully compatible with standard Arduino Uno boards yet is based on the slightly higher spec ATmega328PB chip. This means the GlowDuino Uno offers 4 extra IO pins over the original 20 offered on the Arduino Uno. There’s plenty of power available for peripherals with up to 1A supplied on the 3V3 and the 5V rails. Of course, the most visible appeal is the LEDs! These are attached to each of the standard Uno pins and provide great visual feedback that not only looks great but may help you spot and solve problems in your projects. Power is supplied either via a USB-C socket or the standard Arduino Uno barrel jack connector.
Like the original Arduino, the GlowDuino is open source so you can look at the full source which is linked on the product page. You’ll also find instructions on the repository for setting up the Arduino IDE and (if needed) installing the required USB driver across Windows, Linux and Mac.
